Kharkiv native Vadym Kolesnyk, who has been representing the United States since 2017, advanced to the final of the 2026 Olympics in ice dancing with partner Emily Zingas. The tandem shared their impressions of the result and Olympic experience in an exclusive commentary with Suspilne Sport.

The American-Ukrainian duo of Emily Zingas and Vadym Kolesnyk made a successful start to their Olympic debut. The skaters performed in Milan with a rhythmic dance and qualified for the final stage, the free program, which will take place on Wednesday, February 11.

Zingas and Kolesnik were entering the Olympics on the back of the most successful season of their careers. The skaters became first-time medalists and finalists in the prestigious Grand Prix series, climbed to the podium at the US Championship, and also won the Four Continents Championship.
