EU provided EUR 7.2B in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine since war started – PM Shmyhal

The Eurean Union has provided EUR 7.2 billion in macro-financial assistance to Ukraine since the Russian full-scale invasion started.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Twitter, commenting on another tranche received from the EU, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Ukraine received the third EUR 500M tranche under the EUR 5B exceptional macro-financial assistance of the EU. Grateful to [President of the Eurean Commission – Ed.] Ursula von der Leyen and [Eurean Commissioner for Trade – Ed.] Valdis Dombrovskis for standing with us. So far the EU disbursed EUR 7.2B of macro-financial assistance since Russian war started,” Shmyhal wrote.

In his words, with the support of international partners, Ukraine will win this war.

A reminder that, on December 14, 2022, the Eurean Commission disbursed this year’s last tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine, totaling EUR 500 million.
