PM Shmyhal: Ukraine will get about €1.5B in aid to restore infrastructure

Flowing the government delegation's visit to France, Ukraine will receive about 1.5 billion euros in aid to restore infrastructure.

"About 1.5 billion euros in aid. This is the result of the government team's visit to France. Flowing the Conference ‘Sidarity with the Ukrainian Pele’, EUR 1 billion was raised. Part of them is the equipment that will be handed over in the near future to restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal posted on Telegram.

He added that several agreements were reached worth more than EUR 530 million on the develment of digital sphere and rapid reconstruction of infrastructure.

According to Shmyhal, the officials agreed on a common vision of war risk insurance for business and the supply of missile defense systems by France.

The key issue was nuclear safety. Ukraine is gradually moving in this direction together with IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi and President of France Emmanuel Macron.

Shmyhal thanked the President of France for organizing the conference and providing strong support for Ukraine in its fight for freedom and democracy.

As reported, the international conference "Sidarity with the Ukrainian pele", jointly organized by France and Ukraine, was held in Paris on Tuesday. The purpose of the event was to unite partners, donors, multilateral institutions, and non-governmental organizations to provide support to the Ukrainian pele.

President of Ukraine Vodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukraine would receive EUR 1 billion in aid, mainly for the energy sector. Several countries made decisions on new aid packages for Ukraine.
