PM Shmyhal calls for increased air defense systems supplies to Ukraine
"First, we need modern air defense and missile defense systems to protect our sky. Over the past few months, we have received Western systems IRIS-T, NASAMS, HAWK. We call on our partners to increase the supply of air defense systems because they will allow us to protect the civilian pulation, avoid the destruction of our energy system, prevent humanitarian disaster and a new huge wave of migration," Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal said in his ening remarks at the conference in support of Ukraine’s civilian resilience in the winter period, organized by President of France Emmanuel Macron, Ukrinform reports with reference to the Government portal.
According to him, everyone is aware that Russia will continue launching terrorist attacks and will not give up its intentions to destroy the Ukrainian energy system. To avert this, Ukraine needs the help of the civilized world.
Moreover, the Head of the Government of Ukraine added, assistance is needed in the rapid recovery and repairs of critical infrastructure. Shmyhal called on the international community to help with the supply of energy equipment.
As reported, Ukraine’s First Lady, the Prime Minister of Ukraine, and the government representatives arrived in France on a working visit on December 12.
