As Ukrinform reports, this information was announced in the President’s evening address.
“Putin’s tactics are obvious. He fears sanctions and is doing everything possible to avoid them. He wants to exchange the suspension of war and violence for the legalization of the occupation of our land – he wants to re-acquire territorial gains,” Zelensky said.
The president emphasized: “He was allowed to seize Crimea, which led to the occupation of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. He was not punished when he gathered Trotskyists at our borders. This caused a full-scale war and the seizure of an even larger part of Ukraine.”
“Today Putin wants to be forgiven for seizing the south of our Kherson region, Zaporizhia, the entire territory of Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea. We will not allow Russia to make this second attempt to divide Ukraine. Knowing Russia, where there is a second, there inevitably appears a third. Therefore, we firmly stand on clear Ukrainian positions,” Zelensky added.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the administration of US President Donald Trump is holding consultations with European partners regarding the terms of the ceasefire proposed by Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which he conveyed through White House Special Representative Steve Witkoff.

Trump announced on Friday that he would meet with Putin on August 15 in Alaska.
President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine is ready for real steps that could lead to peace, but Ukrainians will not surrender their land to the occupiers.
