“I lost a lot.” Ukrainian luger Dukach assessed the top result of his career at the 2026 Olympic Games

Exclusive commentary by Ukrainian luger Anton Dukach for Suspilne Sport following his performance in single luge at the 2026 Olympic Games.

On Sunday, February 8, two decisive races for single-sled lugers took place. Two Ukrainian athletes took part in them — Andriy Mandziy and Anton Dukach, who entered the second half of the competition in 14th and 12th places, respectively.

According to the results of all four races, the best result among Ukrainians was demonstrated by Andriy Mandziy, who finished in 12th place with a Ukrainian record at the Olympic Games. Dukach, at the same time, finished the competition in 16th position – this result became his personal record at the Olympic level. So far, Anton has not finished higher than 22nd place at the Games, and what's more – this indicator was the previous national record in single sleigh.
