Russian pro-government media have published details about the assassination attempt on the GRU general. They have focused on those who helped the shooter.

This was reported by the BBC Russian service. Earlier, it was reported that a “Ternopil” trace was found on the suspect.

What is known about the assassination attempt on General Vladimir Alekseev?

Russia's Investigative Committee claims that the assassination attempt was organized by Ukrainian special services. The Russians even stated that Lyubomyr Korba was detained in the UAE, where he had fled, and handed over to Moscow.

As stated in Russia, Viktor Vasin, born in 1959, was detained in Moscow. And Zinaida Serebrytskaya, born in 1971, allegedly left for Ukraine. Both of the shooter's alleged accomplices have Russian citizenship.

Korba and Vasin knew each other for 20 years, transferred money. Both could face life imprisonment, Serebrytskaya is now wanted.

Both Korba and Serebritskaya are registered in Ramenskoye, near Moscow. The latter could have changed her last name.

The woman was originally from Luhansk, she lived either in the same house as Alekseev or in a neighboring one. She allegedly watched him and studied his habits.

“Since December 2024, three high-ranking military personnel have been killed in Moscow and its environs: Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov (and his assistant Ilya Polikarpov), General Fanil Sarvarov, and Lieutenant General Yaroslav Moskalyk. In all three cases, the military personnel were blown up,” the media outlets recalled.
