Smilyansky will not apologize for calling a commentator a prostitute / Ukrposhta

Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi got into a scandal on social media after calling one of the commentators a prostitute. He was trolled on social media for this, but Smilyanskyi will not apologize.

Igor Smilyansky's position on the scandal

Recently, the man wrote a post on the social network Threads, in which he ironically responded to criticism of the recent rebranding of Ukrposhta. A few days later, Ihor Smilyanskyy spoke about his position.

One commenter responded that the company's branches “look so shabby that no “identity with deep meanings” will fix it.” She also hinted at the theft of the company's budget, which, she said, could have been spent on repairs in the branches.

Well, if we steal, then you're a whore. I have as much evidence as you do, and insulting is always funnier than saying something nice. So we're thieves, you're a whore. 1:1,
– Smilyansky answered this.

He later published an appeal from himself to “close the gestalt”:

Of course, a wave of indignation arose: how can you call a woman that? They said that a manager, even when insulted, should be polite, demand an apology, etc. But why should a manager who is insulted (note, they don't say he's a bad manager, they call him a thief and a criminal) tolerate this?
– writes Smilyansky.

However, he says he will not apologize, because he does not consider “what is right for what” and promises to continue to “sternly send “behind the ship” all those who allow themselves rudeness and baseless accusations.” At the same time, he admitted that he could have reacted differently and that it is not OK to call someone a prostitute, just like calling a person a thief or a corrupt person without facts.

By the way, the controversy initially erupted over the change in the Ukrposhta logo. Some commentators noted that the modern logo in the form of the letter “U” is almost identical to the previous “pin” – it was simply turned upside down.

What is known about the rebranding of Ukrposhta?

The company's new logo is a postal horn in the shape of the letter “U”, writes Ihor Smilyansky, CEO of Ukrposhta.

It is known that the visual component was developed by Spiilka Design Büro. The new fonts are based on images of Ukrainian postage stamps from different historical periods – from the time of the UNR to the restoration of Ukraine's independence. They use motifs of the UNR “steps”, stamps from the times of the Hetmanate of Pavlo Skoropadsky, and the works of Heorhiy Narbut.

Smilyansky's previous scandal on social media

  • In September 2025, Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilyanskyi found himself at the center of a scandal after a series of obscene tweets. The reason for the altercation was a user's post that discussed the work of branches and the dismissal of postmen for failing to meet the plan.

  • The conflict began with a post by user X with the nickname Red Kangaroo, who wrote: “Smilyansky is such a powerful manager that they can fire the postman at my Ukrposhta branch because the subscription plan was not met.”

  • Then, discussions began about the low salaries of postmen and the need to pay for overdue goods with their own funds.
