StopOdrex group starts Telegram after clinic’s site block, round three

Campaigners from StopOdrex, encompassing relatives of departed individuals who were patients at the Odrex medical center, have established a Telegram channel for correspondence. This choice followed the third shutdown of the StopOdrex web page.

StopOdrex activists launch Telegram channel after clinic blocks website for third time

Members of the StopOdrex movement, involving families of deceased individuals treated at the controversial Odrex clinic, and people who see themselves as victims of its treatments, have started a Telegram channel for prompt and secure communication. Khrystyna Totkaylo, the co-creator of the StopOdrex platform, mentioned this on her Facebook profile, UNN reports.

According to a woman whose father passed away post-treatment at the Odrex clinic, the decision to set up a Telegram channel was prompted by the third instance of the StopOdrex site being blocked.

In response to yet another blocking of the StopOdrex platform by the controversial Odessa clinic “Odrex,” we have launched a Telegram channel as a rapid and protected mode of communication that is more challenging to eliminate

– Khrystyna Totkailo stated.

She pointed out that the Telegram channel serves the same roles as the presently inaccessible site: gathering and sharing anonymous accounts from individuals about their experiences with care at the Odrex clinic, connecting and supporting each other, and keeping followers informed about advancements in the Odrex Case.

We release all narratives anonymously because we observe how many individuals are hesitant to speak candidly. And that is unsettling by itself. It’s alarming that even after losing a loved one, people are still fearful of the clinic

– the activist penned.

Khrystyna Totkaylo isn’t alone in voicing concerns regarding the apprehension, coercion, and pressure faced by people after they venture to discuss their encounters with treatment at the Odrex clinic. Certain affected individuals nowadays worry not just about legal or emotional duress but also about their personal well-being. This was highlighted by Svitlana Guk, the widow of a previous Odrex clinic patient, in an exclusive remark to UNN.

Or could the physical removal of those impacted, who have lost relatives or their health, commence? I’m struggling to comprehend the present situation. What actions will they undertake next? What’s next – eliminating “inconvenient” witnesses or something else?

– Svetlana Guk inquires.

She further commented that the repeated obstructions of the StopOdrex platform signify a calculated effort by the clinic to silence voices.

I believe this is an attempt, in a manner of speaking, to “muzzle people” through tactics such as blocking the site, preventing individuals from sharing their narratives and discussing their painful ordeals in the public sphere. You understand, if “Odrex” genuinely had nothing to fear or conceal, then surely, no one would resort to such unscrupulous actions as blocking the site. No one would engage in such behavior if they were truly a clinic delivering high-quality medical care

– Svetlana Guk asserts.

Stance of Odrex Clinic on the Shutdown of the StopOdrex Platform

Nevertheless, despite the third instance of the StopOdrex platform being blocked, clinic representatives openly refute any involvement in this matter. During a press conference at the Interfax-Ukraine agency, the clinic’s legal representatives stated that they purportedly had no knowledge of the StopOdrex website, where families of deceased patients and former patients disclosed their treatment histories.

“We are unfamiliar with the site,” declared the clinic’s attorney, Masi Nayem.

Anna Kalinchuk, an attorney at the MILLER law firm, additionally mentioned that she had no awareness of the platform.

Meanwhile, as reported by StopOdrex co-founder Khrystyna Totkaylo, the recurring obstructions of the site happened precisely after appeals from entities linked to the Odrex clinic.

Let us remind you

The StopOdrex platform came into existence through the initiative of individuals who consider themselves or their kin to have experienced adverse outcomes from treatment at the controversial Odrex clinic. It’s presented as a non-profit and apolitical endeavor, with the intent of gathering and sharing accounts, as well as informing the community about the progress of legal proceedings pertaining to the operations of the Odrex clinic.
