Ukraine not considering talks with Russia to end war – t prosecutor

He said this in an interview with the BBC, Ukrinform reports.

"I don't think that the issue of resuming any negotiations is possible," he said firmly.

Kostin said that Russia must be held accountable for the war it began.

He is looking to establish a special international tribunal, and reiterated demands for war reparations through the confiscation of Russian assets.

Kostin stressed the importance of international coeration in clecting evidence and witness testimonies needed to build a legal case.

When asked about the mass graves found in Izium in the Kharkiv region, he said there were signs of willful killing and torture "in practically every village and every town."

According to him, more cases are also emerging of rape and sexual vience against women and children. When Kostin took over from predecessor Iryna Venediktova, there were 40 cases. Now, according to him, they are investigating more than 100 cases – including from Kherson region.

Kostin also pushed back at concerns that the war is causing suffering around the world, and not just in Ukraine.

"They don't hear missiles. They don't know what is bombing. They don't know what is killing, rape, looting," he said.

He acknowledged Eureans were paying higher prices for food and fuel but countered that "Ukrainians are paying for by their lives for the same struggle."

President Vodymyr Zelensky earlier formed a working group headed by the head of his Office, Andr Yermak, that will deal with the issue of creating a special international tribunal to bring to justice those guilty of aggression against Ukraine.

The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Eure, Eurean Parliament, NATO Parliamentary Assembly and OSCE Parliamentary Assembly supported the creation of such a tribunal.

Kyiv is working on several tions for the creation of a special tribunal, with one of them based on an agreement between Ukraine and the UN that can adt a respective resution.
