The name of the odious MARUV, which not only showed its favor to Russia, but also continued to make money there while peaceful Ukrainians were dying, has not appeared in the Ukrainian information space for a long time. It was once supposed to represent Ukraine at Eurovision, and it was probably for the best that it didn't happen.

The singer's real name is Anna Korsun. She is originally from Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region. In 2017, she created a solo project called MARUV, released songs in three languages, and appeared on “X Factor.”

At the end of the same year, she released a hit song, Drunk Groove. To give you an idea, as of today, it has been viewed over 238 million times on YouTube.
Even then, the singer began to focus on Russia, because there the song was released under the Warner Music Russia label, and the name MARUV began to appear in a number of concerts and events on the territory of the aggressor country.
In 2019, the artist, now with the status of a traitor, fought for the right to represent Ukraine at Eurovision. She won the National Selection with the song Siren Song, but did not reach an agreement with the Ukrainian Broadcasting Corporation and did not sign a contract. The singer allegedly agreed not to tour in Russia, but refused to transfer the rights to the video and song.

In May of this year, former member of the board of the Public Broadcaster, Oleksandra Koltsova, said that at that time the positions of the singer and the broadcaster were very different.
She strongly disagreed with the fact that she could not afford to hug Lazarev, because he was, they say, her friend. And we tried to convey: “Anikka, we have a war. You are talented, but you must understand that you are not just an artist now and you cannot afford this rhetoric when your country is at war, and your compatriots are under Russian bombs,

During the selection, she made statements in the style of “what's the difference”: she claimed that she was speaking in Russia because she brought peace, and Russians cannot be judged only by the president.

Working in Russia and full-scale war
She probably wasn't too upset by the results of the National Selection, as she immediately ran to Russia with her career. There she received the ZD AWARDS award, performed at the birthday party of producer Joseph Prigozhin, and sang in Moscow at the ZHARA Music Awards.
At the MTV Europe Music Awards , MARUV won as a Russian singer , declaring that she is a world artist.
Later, duets with Philip Kirkorov, who is an outspoken Putinist, began to appear.
When Russia launched a full-scale war against Ukraine, the singer came forward on February 26 and said she was worried about her safety and the health of her baby (she was pregnant at the time).
And that's not all. Anna even dedicated a few lines to the Russian military.
Russian servicemen, think about it! Military actions and even more so human sacrifices will not make people better or happier. All mothers need living sons, children need fathers, and wives need their husbands,

But from that moment on, a lull began. Public statements ended, as did reports about where MARUV was now. In June 2022, someone took a photo of the singer in one of the hospitals in Kyiv. For some reason, she did not rush to Russia to ask for shelter from Vladimir Putin.

But in late autumn, the singer got in touch with the message that everything was fine with her and she was currently resting in Oman, and also continued her trip to Turkey and Georgia. Since 2023, songs in English have been released.

But as for her creative work, there are some questions. For example, blogger Bohdan Bespalov wrote that she advertises her songs on the Vkontakte platform, which is banned in Ukraine, thereby enriching the Russian budget, which goes to the murder of Ukrainians.

In March 2024, it became known that the singer continues to cooperate with the Russian label. Under the contract, she receives millions of rubles in income, and also added her tracks to the Russian Yandex Music platform, sponsoring the economy of the aggressor country.
It is not known exactly how much MARUV was able to earn from Russian listeners. In 2022, this amount could have been about 337 thousand rubles, and in 2023 – 466 thousand rubles.
Interestingly, MARUV presented the album Love song under the pseudonym Sharlotta Ututu. She recorded a lullaby for her son – For My Baby, which she sang in Ukrainian. Interestingly, the text contains phrases about “the will of the family” and “the freedom of the people”. In this way, she probably thought that she would be able to sit on two chairs at once.

The artist does not disclose her specific place of residence. The singer's current geolocation is also not visible on Instagram, so it is unknown where she actually lives. It was assumed that she probably settled in the UAE.
