Authorities urge citizens to evacuate deoccupied areas in Kherson region amid Russian shelling

Ukraine’s officials have called on the pulation of the villages liberated from Russian invaders to evacuate, as all de-occupied territories immediately come under enemy fire.

That’s according to Yaroslav Yanushevych, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Ukrinform reports.

"The first thing we insist on when talking to our local pele when we go in the liberated villages is immediate evacuation. Our Army did not shell the occupied territories, so the local pulation has no fear of such attacks. Because of this, not everyone agrees to evacuate immediately. And then, literally in a few days, after the enemy attacks, the pele themselves ask us to get them out of there," said the administration chief.

According to the official, over the past day, 104 citizens remained in the village of Myriubivka, while the pulation shrank to 47. The authorities helped 22 pele evacuate, while another 35 fled the area on their own.

Yanushevich emphasized  the “extremely difficult” situation in the de-occupied settlements of Kherson region. For example, 100% of buildings were either damaged or destroyed in Kniazivka, and 80% – in Visokillia.

Deliveries of food, medication, and other humanitarian goods to those remaining in the de-occupied settlements of Kherson region are being organized.
