Liberated Balakliia left without electricity and water supply services, gas pipeline damaged
The relevant statement was made by Balakliia Acting Mayor, City Council Secretary Oksana Bondar during a nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Humanitarian hubs are working. Lots of destructions in the city. There are no electricity and water supply services. A gas pipeline has been partially destroyed. But, today we are making every effort to restore all the structures,” Bondar td.
As for the heating season, Bondar noted some boiler facilities had been destroyed. Renovation works will start in the near future.
“We cried as we saw the liberated city. We saw these destructions back on February 27, and cried, when our Balakliia was bombarded from the air. But, we have very hardworking pele, we have everything, and we will succeed,” Bondar noted.
In her words, those who left Balakliia during Russian occupation are recommended to wait for at least a week or so before returning home.
As of September 10, 2022, humanitarian aid (medicines, food products) was delivered to Balakliia.
A reminder that, over the past week, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated more than 30 settlements in Kharkiv Region.
