Massive shelling of Mykaiv: Russia fired almost 40 missiles

Russian forces fired about 40 rockets at Mykaiv early on July 31. It was one of the largest attacks since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The head of the Mykaiv Regional Council, Hanna Zamazieieva, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

"My city, the Hero City of Mykaiv, is becoming a second Mariup. […] About 40 rockets were fired at Mykaiv tonight. This is one of the largest attacks against the city since the beginning of the all-out invasion," she wrote.

She said the city is being purposefully killed and called on the whe world not to be silent, but to shout about the terrible actions of the terrorist country.

Early on July 31, after 01:00 and at around 05:00, Mykaiv came under massive shelling.

Several infrastructure facilities were damaged by the shelling, including a hotel, a sports center, two educational institutions and a service station. Residential buildings were also damaged.
