Ukraine offers university support to students from occupied territories

The head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, announced this in his post on Telegram, as reported by Ukrinform.

“The admission campaign to universities has started in Ukraine. However, for Ukrainian children who are still in the temporarily occupied territories, this is not just the process of entering a university. This is an opportunity to return home. An opportunity to start a new life in a free Ukraine – among their own, on their own land. As part of President Zelensky’s initiative “Bring Kids Back UA”, the state provides comprehensive support to make this path real and safe. We will provide assistance at every stage – from leaving the occupied territory to paperwork, admission to a university and adaptation,” Yermak wrote.

According to him, there is a special quota for state-funded places at universities across the country for applicants from TOT.

Yermak noted that these applicants do not need to pass the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) – it is enough to pass an interview. These students are guaranteed a scholarship, free accommodation in a dormitory and all the benefits provided to internally displaced persons (IDPs).

If the applicant does not have a Ukrainian passport or secondary education certificate, he will be assisted in obtaining the necessary documents.

Yermak added that additional humanitarian and psychological support is available to anyone who needs it.
