Pakistan celebated its 75th Independence Day as a nation this year, despite “hearts profoundly grieved by the suffering of our brothers and sisters in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” the ambassador said. Pakistan Day usually is celebrated on March 23 and Defense Day on Sept. 6.
