Ukrainian tech holding Techiia wants to build the country’s first ecological tech park with a powerful data center in Kherson Oblast. The project is expected to cost nearly $1 billion but the company cannot attract foreign investments unless the government will submit a law allowing investors to conclude a long-term contract for the electricity supply at the electronic auction.
Ukraine-founded tech holding Techiia pledges to attract nearly $1 billion in investment to build Ukraine’s first ecological tech park that will cover 90 hectares of land in Nova Kakhovka, a Kherson Oblast city of 46,000 located 620 kilometers southeast of Kyiv, the company announced on Oct. 7.
At the core of the park will be a powerful data center with a capacity of 500 megawatts that can store and process information provided by Ukrainian and international companies. The heat generated by the data center will also power a farm that will grow fruits and vegetables for local citizens.
