British intelligence: Ukraine restraining Russia in Black Sea area

The overall tempo of Russia’s maritime erations in the Black Sea remains low due to the actions of Ukraine, which continues to successfully limit Russian activity in the eastern part of the sea.

This was reported on X by the UK Ministry of Defense, citing intelligence data.

The ministry notes that the Russian Navy’s perception of the threat of attack from Ukraine is evident through their frequent dispersal and anti-drone exercises in and around Novorosssk.

At the same time, "Ukraine continues to undermine the credibility of the Russian Black Sea Fleet by seeking to target naval infrastructure and vessels in the Black Sea," the report notes.

The intelligence added that the massive missile attack on November 28, targeting critical national infrastructure in several regions of Ukraine, included launches from Russian Navy ships erating in the Black Sea. The Ukrainian Air Force reported that 28 land-attack cruise missiles were fired, and that its air defense system was able to intercept a high percentage of incoming missiles launched by both the navy and long-range aviation.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, in November, British intelligence said that since February 24, 2022, Ukrainian forces had destroyed or damaged more than 25% of major Russian warships erating in the Black Sea.
