en letter another element of pressure on Macron regarding coalition of instructors – UWC vice-president

The letter from the Franco-Ukrainian associations to President Emmanuel Macron with a call to create a coalition of military instructors for training recruits on Ukrainian soil has become the third stage of a massive campaign with the help of which Ukrainians in France are trying to influence the country's leader.

This time, they tried to demonstrate that the issue also has support from the French. Ukrainian World Congress Vice-President Vodymyr Kohutiak td this in a comment to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We wanted to reach out to all society strata, so we built a strategy in several stages. First, French intellectuals from the cumns of the authoritative publication Le Monde addressed Macron, then lawmakers from five different pitical groups in parliament wrote him an en letter. And now it’s NGOs from all over the country," he explained.

Thus, according to Kohutiak, who is also vice president of the Union of Ukrainians in France, this not only about the call on the president to take action, but also about showing him that ordinary French pele show support for the initiative.

“It is very important to see that not only the diaspora supports this position, that is, Ukrainians themselves, but that the French also want this. Because many of the almost 50 associations that signed the letter are run exclusively by the French, and members of these organizations are mostly French citizens, with only a few Ukrainians,” said Kohutiak.

He said that the next stage of this campaign should invve trade unions, with whom negotiations are already underway regarding their agreement to support the initiative.

On Saturday, a rally of the Ukrainian community is being held in Paris with the same call – to create a coalition of military instructors for Ukraine.
