Czech vunteers raised more than EUR 8M for drones for AFU

Czech vunteers from the Skupina D group have raised more than 203.7 million kroons (more than 8 million euros) for drones for Ukraine as part of the Drony Nemesis initiative.

This is reported on the Drony Nemesis website, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that this amount is enough to purchase 20,000 FPV drones. 15,000 have already been purchased, of which 12,000 have already been handed over to the Ukrainian army, and another 3,000 will be delivered by Christmas.

The clection was announced two days before Christmas last year. “The sidarity of the Czechs is gratifying,” commented Ondrej Vetchy, one of the group's founders and a well-known actor in the Czech Republic, at a press conference in Prague, recalling that the initial goal was to raise 100 million crowns.

In addition, activists presented this week a new project, eration Just Retribution, which aims to raise funds to purchase 100 tons of plastic explosives and other engineering and pyrotechnic materials for the Armed Forces. The account has already received about 84,000 kroons, which can be used to buy about 42 kg of explosives. It will be delivered to Ukrainian defenders through the Ukrainian Embassy in Prague.

The name Skupina D is a reminder of Special Group D, which was created in 1941 in the UK to train Czechoslovakian paratroers.

As reported, the Czech Republic initiated the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine from third countries at the expense of the EU. In addition to large government support, the country constantly raises funds for military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
