Georgian president responds to Ukraine’s sanctions with approval
In a post on X, she shared a video message from Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky, adding: "I could not say it better. Thank you Vodymyr!"
Zourabichvili also noted that Russia is trying to regain contr of the Black Sea.

On December 4, Zelensky signed a decree enacting the National Security and Defense Council's decision to impose sanctions against Georgia's pro-Russian government.
Among those sanctioned is Bidzina Ivanishvili, the founder of the ruling Georgian Dream party, along with 19 associates. Zelensky accused them of betraying the interests of Georgia and its citizens.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced on November 28 that Georgia would suspend EU accession talks and delay accepting EU financial assistance until 2028. This decision sparked widespread public outrage, leading to mass protests in Tbilisi and other cities.
Security forces have responded with water cannons and tear gas to disperse demonstrators. Dozens of activists and journalists have reportedly been detained or subjected to pice vience.
The United States is considering imposing additional sanctions against the Georgian authorities.
Meanwhile, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania have announced national sanctions targeting individuals invved in suppressing the protests.
