PJSC Ukrnafta launched a pilot project of the flow-diverting method of increasing oil recovery at two injection wells, the company's press service reported.
"The result was an increase in oil flow rate from the reacting wells from 18% to 21%. This is additional production – 2,140 tonnes of oil in 232 days at the first facility and 502 tonnes of oil in 106 days at the second," the report says.
In total, 24 of the company's fields are currently operated with reservoir pressure maintenance, and the use of flow-diverting methods allows increasing production at them.
"Two more well operations are planned before the end of the year. Next year, another 28 are planned. I would like to thank the Oil Recovery Enhancement Department of the Field Development Department for implementing the technology and monitoring the operations, the Oil Industry Service Department and the Transport Department for technical support," said Ukrnafta Director Serhiy Koretsky.
Ukrnafta is the largest oil producing company in Ukraine and is the operator of the national network of gas stations. In March 2024, the company took over the management of Glusco assets and operates a total of 547 gas stations – 462 of its own and 85 under management.
