The clubs of Ukrainian national volleyball team members Svitlana Dorsman and Anna Artyshuk held a “head-to-head” match for first place in the Women's Champions League.
Before the final round, the Polish “Developopres” with Dorsman in the squad gained a two-point advantage over the German “Palmberg” Artyshuk, who lost in five sets to the French “Levallois” in the fifth match of the group round.
In the final round, Palmberg had to earn three points (a 3-0 or 3-1 win) in a head-to-head match against Developers. Any other result would have kept the Polish team in first place in the group and a direct ticket to the quarterfinals.
In the end, the hosts of the Rzeszów court left no chance for the German guests – they were “dry” 3:0 in sets. Dorsman joined her partners in the final game and scored three points.
Artyshuk played for Palmberg in the opening set, but did not score any points. Despite the lack of points, the German champions retained second place in the group and will start the playoffs from the previous round.
