Ukraine expects to receive $1.1 bln from IMF in late Dec – Shmyhal

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has met with a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Thursday.

"We have successfully completed the Fifth Review of the EFF [Extended Fund Facility] program at the end of October. We have fulfilled all structural beacons for the Sixth Review. Based on the results of the current mission, we expect to receive the next tranche of $1.1 billion at the end of December," he said on the Telegram channel following the meeting.

The Prime Minister pointed out that at the meeting they discussed further implementation of the reforms stipulated by the memorandum of cooperation with the IMF and Ukraine's progress, which is highly assessed by the Fund.

The parties also touched on macro-financial issues and Ukraine's needs for external financing.

"The government has prepared the draft state budget for the second reading. We understand how we will finance key expenditures. There is reliable support from the IMF, the World Bank, the USA and the EU through the Ukraine Facility program, financing through the ERA instrument," Shmyhal said.
