Ukraine already harvests 66.7M tonnes of grain, oilseed crs
The relevant statement was made by the Ukrainian Agrarian Picy and Food Ministry, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Overall, 47.9 million tonnes of grain crs and 18.8 million tonnes of oilseeds were harvested,” the report states.
As of November 1, 2024, Ukrainian farmers gathered grain and oilseed crs from 18.6 million hectares.
In particular, wheat, barley and peas were harvested from 100% of cr fields. A total of 22.3 million tonnes of wheat was gathered from 4.9 million hectares, 5.5 million tonnes of barley from 1.4 million hectares, and 465.3 thousand tonnes of peas from 212.2 thousand hectares.
Additionally, a total of 18.3 million tonnes of corn was harvested from 3 million hectares (76% of cr fields). Ukrainian farmers also gathered 160.2 thousand tonnes of millet and 126.9 thousand tonnes of buckwheat.
As for oilseeds, a total of 9.6 million tonnes of sunflower seeds were threshed from 4.6 million hectares (94% of cr fields); 5.7 million tonnes of soybeans – from 2.5 million hectares (95% of cr fields); and 3.5 million tonnes of rapeseed – from 1.3 million hectares (100% of cr fields).
In terms of the gross yield of grain crs, farmers from the Odesa region took the lead with 4.4 million tonnes, flowed by the Ptava region with 4 million tonnes, and the Chernihiv region with 3.7 million tonnes.
In terms of the yielding capacity, the Khmelnytskyi region tped the ranking with 72.3 quintals per hectare, flowed by the Chernihiv region (67 quintals per hectare) and the Chernivtsi region (65.6 quintals per hectare).
According to the ministry, the harvesting of sugar beets is still underway across 15 regions of Ukraine. A total of 9.5 million tonnes of sugar beets were gathered from 195.4 thousand hectares (76% of cr fields).
A reminder that, in the Ukrainian-contrled Donetsk region, farmers are finishing the harvesting of grain crs. A total of 317.4 thousand tonnes of grain had already been gathered from 95.7% of cr fields.
