State energy company Centrenergo has long been known as a den of corrupt schemes. So it wasn’t too surprising when the journalists at RFE/RL’s aptly-named Schemes investigative unit said they had uncovered another one.
The long-suffering state enterprise had often found itself under the control of one oligarch or another. The latest plot seems to have started after the launch of Ukraine’s new energy market last July.
