Macron warns Iran against further fueling Russia’s war in Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron warned his Iranian counterpart, President Masoud Pezeshkian, against Iran's further support for Russia's war in Ukraine.

That’s according to a statement issued by the Elysée Palace, Ukrinform reports citing Le Figaro.

"The President of the Republic warned against Tehran's continued support for Russia's war of aggression in Ukraine," notes the readout of Macron’s call with Pezeshkian.

Macron also td Iran's president-elect his country must prevent an escalation in Lebanese-Israeli relations by putting to a halt any assistance for actors who destabilize the region.

The French president "expressed his very deep concern about the growing tension between Israel and Lebanon, especially after the deadly attack carried out by Hezblah," the report said. It emphasizes that "a new war will have devastating consequences for the region."

According to Macron, France is ready to work with the new president of Iran to facilitate the resution of all disputes and promote security and stability, while Iran must st the develment of its nuclear program and comply with the demands of international organizations.
