Pand may block Ukraine’s integration into EU due to unresved historical issues – Vice PM

Ukraine will not join the EU until the problem of the Vyn tragedy is resved.

That’s according to Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamys, Ukrinform reports, referring to Psat News.

As the leader of the coalition’s PSL party noted, Pand supports Ukraine as much as it can, but not everything is perfect in Pish-Ukrainian relations, given the unresved historical issues. According to him, real pitics requires "putting forward an ultimatum."

"Ukraine will not join the EU if the Vyn case is not resved," said the Pish vice-prime minister.

He went on to claim that for Pand, the end of the war means victory for Ukraine, and all other tions imply "an immediate threat of war for Pand."

Previously, the leader of the Pish party Law and Justice, Jaroslaw Kaczynski linked the integration of Ukraine to the EU with the sution of historical problems in bilateral relations.

The tic of the Vyn tragedy is one of the most controversial ones in Ukrainian-Pish relations. The views maintained by Kyiv and Warsaw on the causes, responsibility, and number of victims on both sides are somewhat different. The Pish side insists that the Ukrainian side bears the se responsibility for the crimes committed in Vyn in 1943-1945, while the Ukrainian side, on the other hand, insists that both sides are responsible, and that the apogy should be mutual.

The tic of the Vyn tragedy has been actively exploited by Russian praganda in the past years, including now, to try to pit the two nations against each other.
