Ukraine in dialogue with Mdova to return men evading conscription – ambassador

The Ukrainian authorities are hding a "certain dialogue" with their Mdovan cleagues regarding the return to Ukraine of military-age men who fled to Mdova.

Ukraine's Ambassador to Mdova Marko Shevchenko said this during a program on TV8, Ukrinform reports, citing Maker.md.

According to Shevchenko, the current "legislation and legal framework on refugee issues in Eure and Mdova are not adapted to the situation that Ukraine faced during the war" and "no develed procedure anticipated the start of a full-scale war in Eure in the 21st century and the appearance of millions of refugees and those who are pularly called 'draft evaders'."

He stated that, first and foremost, it is necessary to resve the issue with men avoiding military service who have been refused asylum in Mdova, but who do not return to Ukraine.

"As for Mdova, we have a certain dialogue," Shevchenko said, referring to the return of men of conscription age to their homeland.

At the same time, he noted that this problem is difficult to sve, since there is no single verified statistic on the number of military-age men who entered Mdova.
