Russian hackers massively attacked Ukrainian Telegram channels

Mass publications of provocative messages were recorded on 21 July in a number of well-known Ukrainian Telegram channels.

According to Ukrinform, the State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine reported this on Facebook.

"According to information from en sources, hackers hacked the FleepBot post automation service, which was develed and owned by a company from Russia, and began posting on Telegram channels on behalf of the owners," the statement said.

To fix the problem, the State Service of Special Communications recommends removing the FleepBot from the channel administrators.

"We would like to emphasise once again the danger of using any software from the aggressor country and the need to carefully check the origin of software before using it," the State Special Communications Service said.

The service advises victims of the attack or those who have information about such cases to contact the government response team CERT-UA: [email protected], tel. +38 (044) 281-88-25.

As Ukrinform previously reported, the State Service of Special Communications and Information Protection of Ukraine has provided instructions for the rapid restoration of the IT system in case of technical problems.
