Yermak: Ukraine pleased with results of NATO summit

Andr Yermak, head of Ukraine's Presidential Office, has said he is satisfied with the results of the NATO summit in Washington and that the next st should be an invitation for Ukraine to join the military alliance.

He stated this during the NATO Public Forum on the margins of the NATO Summit in Washington on Thursday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"If you ask me if I am satisfied with the results, then I can say that not only I but also all Ukrainians will be happy when we win this war and when the last Russian terrorist leaves our country. Then I will be able to say that we are happy. At the same time, I can say that we are satisfied with the results of the Washington summit, because the language of the documents is really strong and the allies have taken real steps forward. I think that the next st should be for Ukraine to receive an invitation," Yermak said.

He noted the unity of the allies regarding the irreversibility of Ukraine's path to full membership in NATO and added that new air defense systems would be delivered to Ukraine.

Yermak stressed that Ukraine is waiting for "stronger decisions today" and recalled that a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council would be held on Thursday.

He said that Ukraine's membership in NATO was in the interests not only of Ukraine but also of the alliance itself, which will become stronger.

"We believe that Ukraine's membership in NATO is in our national interests and security, but it is also in the interests of NATO itself. Ukraine is now fighting not only for itself, but it is fighting for all of Eure and the entire free world," Yermak said.
