Zelensky, Schz discuss supply of Patriot systems, battlefield situation

Ukrainian President Vodymyr Zelensky and German Chancellor af Schz at a meeting in Washington discussed the supply of additional Patriot air defense systems, the situation on the battlefield, and the implementation of the results of the Peace Summit.

That's according to a statement posted on the website of the head of state, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky emphasized the critical importance of urgently supplying additional air defense systems to Ukraine in light of Russia's targeted destruction of key Ukrainian civilian infrastructure, including the energy system and medical facilities.

"The statement regarding the supply of additional Patriot systems is significant, and we are grateful to Germany and our partners for this step. At the same time, we need more assistance to counter Russian airstrikes: more air defense systems and F-16 aircraft," he said.

Both leaders condemned Russia's missile attack on the Okhmatdyt Children's Hospital.

Zelensky thanked Germany for its willingness to accept the hospital's patients.
