Ukraine, China will continue conversation about ending Russian war – Kuleba

China is carefully studying the results of the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland, so Ukraine's conversation with this country on ending the war unleashed by Russia will continue.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this on Ukrainian television.

"I think that the decisive factor for China in deciding to participate in the Summit was our principled position that Russia would not be there. However, we know that Beijing is studying the results of the Summit very carefully. There they saw how impressive its scale had become. And I am convinced that we will continue our conversation with China on ending the war in Ukraine," Kuleba said.

He recalled that China remains one of Ukraine's largest trade partners.

"China constantly emphasizes that it does not consider Ukraine an enemy state, that it wants peace. This is a position to work with. It is not perfect. We have questions. We voice them enly. I spoke about this with the Chinese foreign minister. But we have to work with everyone," Kuleba said.

He also noted that ahead of the Summit, a Chinese-Brazilian declaration was issued, which concerned the vision of these countries on the problem of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

"We did not expect that Brazil would join the joint communique [after the Summit] because it signed its communique with China," Kuleba added.

The Global Peace Summit initiated by Ukraine was held in Switzerland on June 15-16. More than 100 countries and organizations from around the world took part in the summit. It focused on issues set out in the Ukrainian Peace Formula, including nuclear and food security, as well as the return of children and other humanitarian issues.
