At the end of 2025, the median salary in Ukraine was 25 thousand hryvnias. In hryvnia terms, this is 23% more than in 2024. Despite the fact that growth was recorded in all regions, one of the western regions of the country became the leader in terms of the indicator.
Where did wages increase the most in 2025?
According to the OLX study, the highest median salary was recorded in the Lviv region with an indicator of 29,750 hryvnias, which is more than 32% more than in 2024.
At the same time, the highest growth rate, namely 36%, was recorded in Kyiv and Zakarpattia regions. There, the median salary is from 29,300 to 28,500 hryvnias, respectively.
At the same time, in terms of cities, Lviv is the leader with a salary of 32,100 hryvnias, and in Kyiv – 30,000 hryvnias.
Pay attention! In the growth ranking, the lowest indicator is in the Kherson region – only 3%, and the median salary is 17,500 hryvnias.
The wages have changed the most towards growth for the following professions: order picker, hotel and restaurant manager, commodity analysts, bakers, and bricklayers.
At the same time, decreases in median salaries were observed for excavator operators, domestic workers, system administrators, computer repair technicians, and designers.
What is the median wage? It is a measure of the income level that divides all workers into two groups: half earn less than this level, half earn more. Unlike the average, the median wage is not distorted by extremely high or low incomes and therefore more accurately reflects the typical level of pay.
What is the average salary in Ukraine?
According to the State Statistics Service, in December 2025, the average salary in Ukraine was almost 31 thousand hryvnias. Compared to the previous month, the amount increased by almost 14%.
The department reminds that the regions with the highest salaries include: Kyiv – 48,449 hryvnias, Luhansk region – 45,160 hryvnias, Kyiv region – 31,200 hryvnias.
And to the regions with the lowest level: Kirovohrad region – 22,110 hryvnias, Chernivtsi region – 22,450 hryvnias, Chernihiv region – 22,752 hryvnias.
Interestingly! Traditionally, the highest payment by field of activity belongs to information and telecommunications, which is almost 75 thousand hryvnias, and the lowest is the field of creativity, art and entertainment (17,766 hryvnias).
