“In January 2026, the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office, in collaboration with the regional branch of the BEB in the Kyiv area, guaranteed the retrieval of 36 million hryvnias to the state financial plan resulting from five criminal proceedings concerning tax avoidance,” the statement specifies.
The prosecutor's office provided added details regarding the noted instances:
- 5 million hryvnias – redressed in lawsuits against executives from a private organization who deliberately minimized tax dues via illegitimate operations;
- 4.6 million hryvnias – restored to the budget in a situation concerning the shirking of rental payments;
- 8.9 million hryvnias – fully settled in a situation involving an investment firm that obscured the subject of taxation following the acquisition of budgetary resources;
- 10.3 million hryvnias – compensated for the failure to remit land levies;
- 7.2 million hryvnias – remitted in an instance where a construction enterprise, obtaining governmental funding through public sector agreements, neglected to declare the mandated disbursements.
