Latvia puts “State Defense” class on compulsory scho curriculum
That’s according to Current Time, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that starting in 2018, the course was among those that could be selected by students at their choice. The very introduction of the course into curricula was left to the discretion of scho boards. Now the course will become a compulsory class.

According to the new curriculum, the course is designed for two years and contains three main modules:
civic activism, with an emphasis on patriotic education of youths; state defense system; skills that would be needed should Latvia face a threat.
High scho students will be taught to navigate the terrain, handle weapons and shoot, as well as provide first aid.
Latvia has reportedly re-introduced conscription from 2024 as part of the efforts to deter Russia from invading Eure.
