The Ukrainian sailor was abducted on February 20.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said a Ukrainian citizen was freed from the captivity of Nigerian pirates.

“Ukraine fights for each one citizen. February 20th. Pirates abduct 10 ‘Alpine Penelope’ crew members near Nigerian shore. 1 Ukrainian citizen. @UKRinGRC [Ukrainian Embassy in Greece] & shipping co worked well. Negotiations ended in crew being freed. Our Dmytro Holianenko is back in Ukraine. Welcome home!” he wrote on Twitter on March 10, 2020.
