Polish business reported difficulties in Ukraine / Collage of Channel 24
A special delegation from Poland visited Kyiv on May 21-22. Officials and business representatives wanted to discuss the current situation with the Ukrainian government, in particular regarding investments.
What do Poles in Ukraine complain about?
Polish business allegedly feels that it is being “pushed out” from Ukraine, money.pl reports. Therefore, Minister of Finance and Economy Andrzej Domanski tried to settle some of the disputes, although many problems still remain unresolved.
It is known that the topics for discussion included investments in the energy sector, the development of drone technologies, and preparations for the June Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine in Gdansk. However, the agenda also included the issue of a Polish company that is still waiting for money to build a waste processing plant in Lviv.
However, the list of “complex issues” in mutual relations is much longer, and it cannot be hidden by declarations of solidarity and support for Ukraine in the fight against Russia,
– the message says.

Entrepreneurs complain about strict rules and short tender deadlines , as well as insufficient support for the guarantee system. One business representative described a situation where Polish companies are allegedly being “pushed out” from the Ukrainian market, while Turkish firms, in particular, may have an advantage.
In addition, they also mentioned corruption – the so-called “surcharge tax”, which allegedly remains a systemic problem, as well as the limited presence of Polish development institutions.
The media added that some businesses and politicians are afraid of Ukraine's possible accession to the EU . First of all, the concern concerns competition in the agricultural sector and the transport industry.
And although one official visit is not enough to solve all the problems, Domansky “remains optimistic.” According to him, the Ukrainian side is open to dialogue, and the results of the trip to Kyiv even exceeded expectations.
Interesting! According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, the meeting discussed cooperation with the Polish development bank BGK and the export credit agency KUKE on supporting recovery projects, development of municipal infrastructure, energy, transport, and the private sector.
