“The project includes training specialists who will receive modern tools for working with traumatic stress and other psychological consequences of war, as well as developing a special infrastructure necessary to provide quality assistance. Our goal is to build a network of psychosocial support for wounded police officers, veterans and their family members,” said Ivan Vyhivsky, Head of the National Police of Ukraine.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Alle Dornhout noted that only half a year has passed since the first mental recovery center for police officers opened its doors in Lviv.

“The Dutch model has been adapted and is being expanded in Ukraine. Representatives of the Dutch police, as well as their psychosocial support center, played an important role. It is very important to provide psychological assistance to police officers, protection, as well as support on a “Peer-to-Peer” basis. We want to expand the scale of this socio-psychological assistance in Ukraine so that it is a sustainable model and accessible to many,” said Dornhout.
