EU High Representative Kaia Kallas responded to reports of Russia's use of the Oreshnik ballistic missile and stated that the European Union is preparing to increase international pressure on Moscow in response to the escalation.
She wrote about this on the social network X.
Kaia Kallas stated that Russia has found itself in a stalemate on the battlefield, which is why it is increasingly resorting to terror against Ukraine, striking at civilian infrastructure and city centers.
According to her, such attacks are deliberate terrorist acts aimed at maximum damage to the civilian population and intimidation of Ukrainians.
Separately, Kallas commented on reports of Russia's use of the Oreshnik medium-range ballistic missile, which she called an instrument of political intimidation and a manifestation of a reckless risk of escalation to the point of a nuclear threat.
She emphasized that EU foreign ministers will discuss further steps to increase pressure on Russia next week, particularly in the context of new sanctions and diplomatic measures.
