The State Border Guard Service emphasizes that the enemy is trying to gain a foothold by setting up minefields and accumulating resources, but Ukrainian drones systematically detect and destroy such objects.

The elimination of mine traps directly saves the lives of our fighters and breaks through the enemy's defenses. And the loss of fuel and power deprives the occupiers of the opportunity to quickly respond to the situation,

We remind you that the demining of Ukrainian territories continues. In particular, the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitaliy Kim, told Channel 24 that in total there were over 800 thousand hectares in the territory of the Mykolaiv region that needed to be demined. As of May 2026, 624 thousand hectares had been fully or partially demined.

Also, a specialist in electronic warfare and communications systems, advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov, noted that Russian troops are actively mining the front-line territories of Ukraine to a depth of 10-20 kilometers using drones. The mines are triggered when a car approaches based on a magnetic sensor, which poses a threat to everyone who travels on the roads.

It is also worth noting that the demining of Ukrainian land is important for farmers and the country's food security. Since the beginning of the war, Ukraine has returned 40.7 thousand square kilometers to use, of which 15.1 thousand hectares are agricultural land demined within the framework of the state program. In 2026, it is planned to return almost 10 thousand hectares of land to use, introducing new technologies and approaches to demining.
