Car completely burned down: man suspected of setting fire to car in Kyiv region due to conflict

In the Buchanskyi district of the Kyiv region, a man set fire to a car due to a conflict with the family of a local resident. The car burned down completely. Law enforcement officers reported the suspect to the police.

This was reported today, May 20, by the press service of the Main Directorate of the National Police of the Kyiv region.

It is noted that law enforcement officers received a report that a car was on fire on one of the streets of the village of Gostomel near a private house.

The investigation established that the suspect, a 46-year-old man, had a conflict with the family of the 28-year-old victim. According to the case materials, the suspect approached a parked Audi Q5 and, using a fuel and lubricant, set the car on fire. The car belonged to the victim.

“The car was completely destroyed as a result of the fire. There were no injuries,” the report says.

The man was informed of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 194 Intentional destruction of another's property committed by arson of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The maximum sanction of the article provides for up to ten years of imprisonment.
