Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa stated that the issue of lowering the mobilization age and introducing restrictions on traveling abroad for men aged 18 to 24 is not currently being considered.
He said this in an interview with Channel 24.
“At the moment, the issue of extending the mobilization age and limiting the special age category we have set is not being considered under the current scenario,” Palisa said.
Answering a journalist's question about when exactly this issue could be considered and whether there are any such plans for the coming year, Palisa noted that further decisions will depend on the situation on the front.
“Everything will depend on the situation on the front, of course, but at the moment this issue is not being considered, it is not even raised in terms of risk assessment,” the deputy head of the OPU added.
The journalist also asked whether, in Palisa's opinion, it is worth announcing women's mobilization now. In response, he emphasized that there are no plans for forced conscription of women.
“There is no talk of mobilizing women right now. This is a purely voluntary matter. Women, just like men, can sign a contract on absolutely general terms. Just like the '18-24 contract,' please,” the official said.
At the same time, when asked whether any simplified conditions or short contracts for women are being prepared, Palisa added:
“The program being prepared by the Ministry of Defense contains general conditions for both men and women, and for women they will be quite attractive,” the deputy head of the OPU noted.
