What is important to know about Eurovision 2026?
This year's Eurovision Song Contest was special, as it celebrated its 70th anniversary. The music festival was hosted by the Austrian capital, Vienna, and all events took place at the Wiener Stadthalle arena.
This is the third time in history that Austria has hosted the contest. The first time was in 1967, and the second time was in 2015 after Conchita Wurst's triumph. The country won the right to host the anniversary show thanks to singer JJ's victory in Basel last year.
In 2026, countries that had not participated in the contest for a long time returned to the stage, including Montenegro, Romania and Bulgaria. In total, representatives of 35 countries competed for victory.
The overall concept and design of the stage were inspired by the idea of unity, reflecting the unchanging motto of United by Music.
The winner of Eurovision 2026 was Bulgaria with the song Bangaranga. This country will host the next contest in 2027.
