A building explosion has occurred in the southern Iranian port of Bandar Abbas, killing at least one person and injuring 14 others.
This was reported by Al Arabiya, citing local state media.
The semi-official Mehr news agency, citing a local fire chief, said the explosion was caused by a gas leak. The incident occurred on January 31 at a facility in the port. A local official confirmed to Iranian news agencies that one person was killed and 14 others were injured.
At the same time, the semi-official Tasnim news agency denied reports on social media about an alleged targeted attack on the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' naval forces, calling them “completely false.”
Separately, the state-run Tehran Times reported that four people were killed in a gas explosion in the city of Ahvaz near the Iraqi border earlier today. No further information was available at this time.
