The weather in Ukraine will be changeable in the coming days. After mostly dry weather, short-term rains and thunderstorms are expected again soon in most regions.
The relevant information was provided by Ivan Semilyt, deputy head of the media communications department of the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
How will the weather change soon?
Ivan Semilyt said that on May 16, dry weather will prevail in most regions due to the influence of a field of elevated atmospheric front. Only in the western regions is the passage of an atmospheric front expected in the afternoon.
It will bring short-term rains, thunderstorms, hail, as well as gusts of wind, with a speed of 15 to 20 meters per second. Already on May 17-18, the weather in Ukraine will change under the influence of a new atmospheric front, which will arrive from the east.
According to him, because of this, unstable weather with short-term rains and, in some places, even thunderstorms is forecast in most regions. At the same time, atmospheric pressure and humidity will fluctuate during this period.
A representative of the Ukrhydrometeorological Center explained that temperatures will largely depend on cloud cover. At the same time, cooler air will gradually retreat, and a warmer air mass will begin to arrive in the country.
What weather will the beginning of the week bring?
In particular, on Monday, May 18, the weather will remain dry only at night in the eastern and western regions. Instead, the wind will mostly move north at a speed of 5 to 10 meters per second.
According to experts, the air temperature will not change significantly. The air temperature at night will range from 9 to 14 degrees Celsius in most regions. During the day, it will rise to between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius.
However, in some regions, daytime highs are forecast to be at least a few degrees higher. In the eastern and Sumy regions, thermometers will rise to 26 degrees Celsius.
Will there be serious weather changes?
By the end of this week, mostly cool and unstable weather is forecast in Ukraine due to the influence of a low pressure area. Gusty winds, fog, and thunderstorms are also expected in some places.
Currently, the atmosphere is gradually transitioning to a summer mode, so Vitaliy Postryhan also warns of unstable weather in the coming days. Bad weather is expected in some places due to increased cyclonic activity.
Similar weather conditions currently observed in Ukraine are expected to persist, according to preliminary forecasts, at least until the end of the second decade of May. Temperatures will range from 6 to 24 degrees Celsius, depending on the region and time of day.
