Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva lost to Madison Keys from the United States, the first seed at the WTA 125 tournament in Paris. In the semifinal match, the Ukrainian was defeated in three sets.

In Paris, Starodubtseva and Keys played their second head-to-head match in the history of their personal confrontations. The Ukrainian tennis player was defeated in three sets, exiting at the semifinal stage of the tournament.

How was the match?

  • The first set was dominated by Starodubtseva. The Ukrainian made a four-game breakthrough. Starodubtseva managed to finish the match in the seventh game, scoring a set point on her fourth attempt.
  • Keys was able to fight back in the second set. Despite a 2-2 tie, it was the American tennis player who managed to seize the initiative and finish the game with a 6-2 victory.
  • Starodubtseva started the decisive third set with three games won. However, the Ukrainian tennis player was unable to consolidate her success and in the end, Keys snatched victory in the match with a score of 6:3.
