
World number four Coco Gauff reached the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. In the semifinals, the American beat Romanian tennis player Sorana Cirstea in straight sets.
This is the second year in a row that Gauff has reached the final of the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome. Last year, the American lost in straight sets to local tennis player Jasmine Paolini.
How was the match?
- Kirstya started the first set more actively, leading 4:2 and coming close to winning the set. But the American made a comeback, first tying the score, and then closing the set with a 6:4 victory.
- In the decisive second set, Goff took the initiative. At 4:2, Kirstia tried to close the gap, but in the end, the match ended in victory for the American.

Hoffe's opponent in the final of the “thousandth” in Rome will be determined in a confrontation between Ukrainian Elina Svitolina and world number three Iga Swiontek from Poland.
