The Ukrainian fruit and vegetable market has recorded another price change. While last year's cabbage continues to rise in price, seasonal vegetables and some berries, on the contrary, are rapidly becoming cheaper.

The price of last year's vegetables changes unevenly

In Ukraine, prices for last year's white cabbage have increased again (from 14-16 to 14-18 hryvnias per kilogram), EastFruit reports. At the same time, early potatoes (from 45-140 to 75-130 hryvnias per kilogram) and table beets (from 90-100 to 60-75 hryvnias per kilogram) continue to fall in price amid an increase in the supply of new harvest products.

Also, prices for cucumbers (from 45-80 to 35-70 hryvnias per kilogram) and tomatoes (from 105-140 to 105-125 hryvnias per kilogram) have noticeably fallen on the market. In addition, zucchini have been falling in price for the fifth week in a row (from 88-95 to 73-80 hryvnias per kilogram). At the same time, the gap between minimum and maximum prices on the radish market has narrowed.

Beijing cabbage has increased in value over the past week, while cauliflower prices have gone down.

Greens and berries have also changed in price

In the greens segment, sorrel and lettuce prices have increased. At the same time , green onions (from 265-280 to 250-270 hryvnias per kilogram) and arugula (from 295-310 to 245-255 hryvnias per kilogram) have become more affordable for buyers.

In addition, the first price offers for local asparagus have appeared on the Ukrainian market, indicating the start of a new production season.

In the fruit and berry segment, a decrease in prices for garden strawberries was recorded (from 200-300 to 215-260 hryvnias per kilogram). Bananas also became cheaper (from 70-75 to 65-75 hryvnias per kilogram), which additionally affected the overall dynamics of the fruit market.

Prices for last year's cabbage have skyrocketed in Ukrainian stores: what happened on the market?

Last year's white cabbage, which began to rise rapidly in price, was particularly prominent on the Ukrainian vegetable market.

  • In Ukraine, prices for white cabbage of the 2025 harvest have increased significantly due to reduced stocks and high demand, reaching 8-15 hryvnias per kilogram.

  • In supermarkets, cabbage prices vary: Metro 19.90 UAH/kg, Megamarket 31 UAH/kg, Novus 14.89 UAH/kg, Auchan 22.90 UAH/kg, Silpo 23 UAH/kg, ATB 27.49 UAH/kg.

Despite the current price increase, white cabbage is still 77% cheaper on average than at the beginning of May last year. At the same time, sellers do not rule out that prices will continue to rise, as the volume of products on the market is rapidly decreasing.
