Ukrzaliznytsia reported two deaths from Russian attack on May 13

On May 13, Russian forces launched 23 strikes on railway facilities in western, northern, and central regions of Ukraine. The attacks targeted energy infrastructure, bridges, passenger, wagon, and locomotive depots. Two Ukrzaliznytsia employees were killed in the Russian attack in the town of Zdolbuniv.

The Russians attacked the company's facilities in Transcarpathia, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, Volyn, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. Ukrzaliznytsia recorded damage to rolling stock – three locomotives were disabled during the night.

Ukrzaliznytsia reported that no passengers were injured during the Russian attacks and evacuations. One employee was injured while heading to a shelter.

On May 13, Russians attacked the town of Zdolbuniv in Rivne region. Two company employees were killed and another was injured. Ukrzaliznytsia reported that the deceased were not at their workplaces.

“We continue to monitor air threats to our trains and, if necessary, evacuate passengers in case of immediate danger. This may result in temporary train delays, operational changes to the schedule, and route adjustments. We ask passengers to be understanding of possible changes during their journey and to listen carefully to announcements on trains, at stations, and terminals,” the company said in a statement.
